We are the Future

Young People's Delegation to the 2012 Ministerial Conference and Third Bologna Policy Forum - Bucharest, April 23 - 27, 2012

In April 2012, Ministerial delegations from around the world came together in Bucharest to discuss the future of higher education in Europe, further promoting a process that started under the name of Bologna Process, and the implications of this process for the rest of the world.

As part of the SiS Catalyst project a delegation of 20 young people from 13 countries and 4 continents was given the opportunity to come to Bucharest alongside the Ministerial conference to take part in a two-day workshop to prepare themselves as junior advisors to the Ministerial delegations.

The young people, from countries including Brazil, Egypt, India, Kenya, Austria, UK and Poland, came together to discuss higher education in their country and how their ideas could be used to shape the future of education policy and practice. They prepared questions they wanted to ask the Ministers and decision makers and designed business cards with their personal advice from their experiences of education as junior advisors.

All of the young delegates got the opportunity to offer their advice to the Austrian Federal Minister for Science and Research, a representative of the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport and the Rector and Vice Rector of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest in the course of a press event.

The young delegates then elected four representatives that were on hand on both days of the Ministerial Conference to offer advice to the ministerial delegations in the foyer of the Romanian Palace of the Parliament.
